Policies on Summer Events Have an Effect on Archipelago Sea Jazz

24.4.2020

On 22th of April, the Government of Finland issued a policy concluding that they will cancel public events of more than 500 people until the end of July. This unfortunately means that the two bigger events that were supposed to be held in the Taalintehdas and Turku area will be postponed to the summer of 2021. The status of the two smaller events, Korpo Sea Jazz and Åland Sea Jazz, will be updated in the near future.

Health, safety and responsibility are at the forefront when we organize Archipelago Sea Jazz. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Baltic Jazz and Turku Sea Jazz -events of 2020 have been moved to the summer of 2021. The two smaller events, Korpo Sea Jazz and Åland Sea Jazz, are pending approval from the government as policies on smaller festivals are yet to be confirmed. The organizers are hoping to hear about the new policies during the month of May.

We plan on carrying out most of the Baltic Jazz and Turku Sea Jazz concerts next year in the same venues. As such, the 2020 tickets are valid for the year 2021 regarding these concerts. If you do not wish to use your tickets next year, you can apply for a refund through Tiketti until 31st of August 2020. The new dates for 2021 are as follows:

  • Baltic Jazz 9.–11.7.2021
  • Turku Sea Jazz 30.–31.7.2021

Our work by no means is at halt, and we are already organizing a diverse array of jazz experiences for this summer, autumn and the upcoming year! Even though there is a gaping hole in jazz this summer, we wish to provide content for the jazz community otherwise. In May, Archipelago Sea Jazz will take part in the virtual Pax Navis -event.
