Thank you for the past year!

20.12.2022

This year we were finally able to organize our festivals on a normal scale after the restrictions. Baltic Jazz and Korpo Sea Jazz again served a wonderful program without forgetting traditions. Turku Sea Jazz was produced successfully in a new location, in the Forum Marinum area, with international stars shining on stage. Åland Sea Jazz was organized now for the second time, and the event was enjoyed by both the audience and the artists.

Festival news

Korpo Sea Jazz’s 2023 program is ready and expectations are high. The program offers quality jazz for many tastes – there is a gospel-oriented atmosphere in Korppoo’s medieval church and the dialogue of saxophones in the darkening forest, not to mention guitar virtuosos. It’s great that we can once again offer our audience top Finnish jazz, says Bosse Mellberg, chairman of Korppoon Jazz ry.

The planning of the summer 2023 Baltic Jazz program has gone according to schedule and the program will be published at the end of January. Alexandra Lönnström, who has been the Executive Director for the past five years, will move on to new challenges from the beginning of next year, and after her, Jani Tuomaala, who started in December, will continue in the role.

The first artist selections of Turku Sea Jazz will be published in connection with January’s Travel Fair, and Early Bird tickets will go on sale at the same time. Like last summer, the concert venues are Forum Marinum Maritime Center, Seili island and the Cathedral Park Terrace, producer Sanna Vartiainen tells. Stay tuned!

Åland Sea Jazz will also announce the first performers in January. The festival will be organized in the center of Mariehamn and the nearby archipelago, and it brings the top names of Nordic jazz to the area. The jazz summer of the archipelago culminates in August in Åland’s wonderful milieu, Jussi Fredriksson describes.
