Thank You for the Archipelago Sea Jazz Year 2024!
20.12.2024
The year 2024 for the Archipelago Sea Jazz festival series was a resounding success. All four festivals were carried out as planned with fantastic artists, attracting a total of approximately 7,300 visitors to the archipelago scenery and top-tier music.
Environmental work continued in accordance with the EcoCompass certification and in collaboration with Archipelago Sea Jazz’s long-standing partners, the John Nurminen Foundation and Keep the Archipelago Tidy Association. According to visitor surveys, protecting the Baltic Sea remains a key value for Archipelago Sea Jazz year after year.
Baltic Jazz 2024 was filled with a cheerful atmosphere of togetherness. Despite some varying weather conditions, most outdoor concerts were successfully carried out in good conditions.
– Once again, we enjoyed the authentic Baltic Jazz festival spirit, created not only by the incredible artists and atmospheric concerts but also by all the visitors and the countless volunteers involved in the festival organization. We hope as many as possible will join us next summer when Baltic Jazz will be held for the 37th time! Huge thanks also to all partners, funders, and sponsors who have made our festival possible, says festival director Jani Tuomaala.
– Korpo Sea Jazz went as planned, with weather once again favoring the festival as it has for the past 12 years, rejoices Korpo Sea Jazz chair Bosse Mellberg.
– The audience got to enjoy young jazz energy in Korpo Gård’s yellow hall, in the forest, and by the sea. The Turku–Korpo–Turku jazz bus, which already received praise in 2023, was once again highly appreciated by Turku jazz enthusiasts.
Turku Sea Jazz’s renewed concept this summer and its closer collaboration with Forum Marinum was a great success. During the festival week, many small and surprising performances were held in various spaces at the maritime museum.
– The most praise we received was for the festival’s manageable size and the intimate atmosphere of Forum Marinum’s boat hall. Musicians also gave glowing feedback on the relaxed event, where music took center stage, says Turku Sea Jazz producer and communications officer Sanna Vartiainen.
– Over a third of those who responded to our visitor survey were first-time attendees, and Turku Sea Jazz attracted more audience from the Helsinki metropolitan area than in previous years, which is delightful! Many responses also expressed a desire for more free concerts in the program – an important message about cultural accessibility to our government and cultural funders!
Åland Sea Jazz 2024 was also a true success! This year, the festival clearly hit the right note, drawing an enthusiastic audience.
– We received much praise for a well-organized event, and the artist lineup was particularly highlighted – many felt this was the best year yet! Both the audience and the performers, as well as the staff, seemed to genuinely enjoy the high-level musical experiences. Åland Sea Jazz has firmly established its place in the Åland summer, and we’re already looking forward to next year, when we’ll again showcase the best of Nordic jazz, says festival producer Hanna Kivioja.
Archipelago Sea Jazz wishes everyone a peaceful turn of the year – see you again next summer!
